Drop us a note about the podcast.

A nation can feel like it’s unraveling and Psalm 74 gives words for that moment: “How long, O God?” I start with that biblical lament, then turn to the kind of headlines that make your stomach drop and spark debate about immigration policy, public safety, and what leaders owe the vulnerable. I’m not trying to entertain a crisis. I’m trying to put it under God’s authority and ask what faithfulness looks like when evil feels loud and unchecked.

From there, we move to something closer than politics: the home. I read Proverbs 31 and talk about Christian marriage, the kind of trust that’s built through steady action, and why character outlasts charm and beauty. If you’re searching for practical biblical wisdom on marriage roles, priorities, and what makes a spouse truly valuable, these verses cut through the noise with simple clarity.

Luke 9 and Luke 10 raise the uncomfortable questions: Do we actually follow Jesus, or do we keep adding delays and excuses? Are we ashamed to share the gospel because we don’t want to offend, and have we really thought about what it means when someone dies without Christ? Jesus sends workers out as lambs among wolves, and that line still describes the world we live in.

We close with reminders of courage and conviction through a Medal of Honor account, Scott O’Grady’s words about trusting God after being shot down, and a reflection on faith, patriotism, and the cost we ask service members to carry. If this helped you, subscribe, share it with someone who needs a steady compass, and leave a review so more people can find the show.

Psalm Lament For God’s Justice

SPEAKER_01

Psalm seventy-four, verses ten through twelve. How long, O God, will you allow our enemies to insult you? Will you let them dishonor your name forever? Why do you hold back your strong right hand? Unleash your powerful fist and destroy them. You, O God, are my king from ages past, bringing salvation to the earth.

Crime Report And Immigration Critique

SPEAKER_01

May 14th, 2024, Albany, New York. Fifteen-year-old girl, a ninth grade honor roll student, who ran away from a group home, was forced into a car at knife point or with a metal rod, driven to an isolated trail in the south end, and raped in the backseat by Sakir Akin, a Turkish asylum seeker who had crossed the U.S. southern border illegally in November 2023. Why do you never hear the people that promote illegal and mass Muslim immigration worried about the rights and safety of women and children and little girls who get abused by these illegal immigrants and mass Muslim immigrants?

Very, very grateful for your prayers.

Opening Prayer And Salvation Focus

SPEAKER_01

Father, thank you for today. Thank you for you, Father, and your son Jesus Christ and your Holy Spirit. Thank you for your love and your mercy, your grace, and your forgiveness of sins through the merit of your son Jesus Christ alone. Help us to remember that, Father. Help us to remember that it's not our own actions or lack of actions that get us into heaven. That it's not our own efforts or lack of efforts. That it's not what denomination we belong to or don't belong to.

SPEAKER_00

That it's not what particular person party, political, pope, priest, bishop, cardinal, pastor, friar that we follow, celebrity. That the only path to you, Father, to eternal life forever in heaven, is through you and your son, Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_01

Through that free gift that you offer us. Please be with those listening to the podcast. Be with their families. Bless their marriages. Help us to do your will, Father, above all else, to love you with our whole heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. And bless marriages across our nation here in America and around the world where people are listening. Father, help us to cleave to one another. Be with our military, our law enforcement, those who defend us from evil. Give them wisdom and courage and a strong faith. Be with our leaders who stand up against evil. Help them to rule in fear of you. And guide my words here, Father, please. In your Son's name we pray. Amen.

Proverbs 31 And Marriage Priorities

SPEAKER_01

Marriage verses for today. Proverbs 31, verses 10 through 12, and 27 through 30. Keep in mind you often hear people use Proverbs 31 as an excuse for women working outside, wives and mothers working outside the home, as you listen to these verses. A competent wife, how does one find her? Her value is far above pearls. Her husband entrusts his heart to her, and with her he will have all he needs. She brings him good and not trouble all the days of her life. It's verses ten through twelve, twenty-seven through thirty. She is vigilant over the activities of her household. She doesn't eat the food of laziness. Her children bless her, her husband praises her. Many women act competently, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive and beauty fleeting. But a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. I would offer that for men and for a number of women. Remember that it's actions that make a wife truly valuable and beautiful to her husband. And remember that the Proverbs 31 woman, while she does do work outside the home, it's always, always with her husband, children and home in that order, being the focus of those efforts.

Following Jesus Without Looking Back

SPEAKER_01

Luke 9, 51 through 1012. As the time drew near for him to ascend to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem. He sent messengers ahead to a Samaritan village to prepare for his arrival, but the people of the village did not welcome Jesus because he was on his way to Jerusalem. When James and John saw this, they said to Jesus, Lord, should we call down fire from heaven to burn them up? But Jesus turned and rebuked them. So they went on to another village. As they were walking along, someone said to Jesus, I will follow you wherever you go. But Jesus replied, Foxes have dens to live in and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head. He said to another person, Come follow me. The man agreed, but he said, Lord, first let me return home and bury my father. But Jesus told him, Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead. Your duty is to go and preach about the kingdom of God. Our pastor asked us that on Easter Sunday morning. How many days ago? How many weeks ago? How often do we show others, share the gospel of Jesus Christ? And I thought, I don't do a very good job with that. I do a pretty poor job with that. And why? Are we embarrassed? Are we ashamed? Do we not want to offend someone else? How about thinking about the result of another person who dies and doesn't know Jesus Christ? When we think we might offend somebody, when we're worried about offending somebody or not fitting into society and culture, at least I need to remind myself what happens if that person dies and they haven't accepted, chosen Jesus Christ. Another said, Yes, Lord, I will follow you, but first let me say goodbye to my family. But Jesus told him, anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the kingdom of God. The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit. These were his instructions to them. The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest. Ask him to send more workers into his fields. Now go and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves. Don't take any money with you, nor a traveller's bag, nor an extra pair of sandals, and don't stop to greet anyone on the road. Whenever you enter someone's house, first say, May God's peace be on this house. If those who live there are peaceful, the blessing will stand. If they are not, the blessing will return to you. Don't move around from home to home. Stay in one place, eating and drinking what they provide. Don't hesitate to accept hospitality but because those who work deserve their pay. If you enter a town and it welcomes you, eat whatever is set before you. Heal the sick and tell them the kingdom of God is near you now. But if a town refuses to welcome you, go out into its streets and say, We wipe even the dust of your town from our feet to show that we have abandoned you to your fate. And know this the kingdom of God is near. I assure you, even wicked Sodom will be better off than such a town on Judgment Day. When somebody tells you that all people are equally good and bad, remember verses like this Sodom will be better off. Jesus clearly talks about the fact that it's going to be better and worse for certain people on Judgment Day, meaning we are not all equally good and bad. However, we do all equally need Jesus Christ to earn, to have salvation and eternal life, not to earn it, but to obtain it.

Psalm 74 And A Nation’s Darkness

SPEAKER_01

Psalm 74, verses 1 through 23. O God, why have you rejected us so long? Why is your anger so intense against the sheep of your own pasture? Remember that we are the people you chose long ago, the tribe you redeemed as your own special possession, and remember Jerusalem, your home here on earth. Walk through the awful ruins of the city and see how the enemy has destroyed your sanctuary. There your enemy shouted their victor victorious battle cries. There they set up their battle standards, they swung their axes like woodcutters in a forest. With axes and picks they smashed the carved paneling, they burned your sanctuary to the ground, they defiled the place that bears your name. Then they thought, Let's destroy everything. So they burned down all the places where God was worshipped. We no longer see your miraculous signs, all the prophets are gone, and no one can tell us when it will end. How long, O God, will you allow your enemies to insult you? Will you let them dishonor your name forever? Why do you hold back your strong right hand? Unleash your powerful fist and destroy them. You, O God, are my king from ages past, bringing salvation to the earth. You split the sea by your strength, and smash the heads of the sea monsters. You crushed the heads of Leviathan and let the desert animals eat him. You cause the springs and streams to gush forth, and you dried up rivers that never run dry. Both day and night belong to you. You made the starlight and the sun. You set the boundaries of the earth, and you made both summer and winter. See how these enemies insult you, Lord. A foolish nation has dishonored your name. Don't let these wild beasts destroy your turtle doves. Don't forget your suffering people forever. Remember your covenant promises, for the land is full of darkness and violence. Don't let the downtrodden be humiliated again. Instead let the poor and needy praise your name. Arise, O God, and defend your cause. Remember how these fools insult you all day long. Don't overlook what your enemies have said or their growing uproar.

Work Ethic Warning From Proverbs

SPEAKER_01

Proverbs 12 11. A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies has no sense.

Book Review And Support Request

SPEAKER_01

Countryside. If you are looking for a family-friendly middle grade read, if you would check out Countryside, this is a five-star review by Jeff Hennefort on Amazon. If I can find. If you enjoy young adult modern fantasy, then I would highly recommend Countryside, the Book of the Wise. Another thing that I've heard from some people is. Well, if I can find it, one thing I found to be especially refreshing is that the adults are not idiots and the kids are not disrespectful. And the media today, especially that geared for young people, adults are often presented as being utterly foolish as a cheap way of making the kids look truly wise and heroic, but that is not the case here. Very nice review by Mr. Henneforth. This is the first book in the series. If you get a chance, you can leave a review online. I would appreciate that also for the podcast. If you can leave a review or five or ten dollars a month, there's a link in the show notes where you can set up that monthly donation.

UK Grooming Case And Religion Claim

SPEAKER_01

Bradford grooming victim. 15-year-old girl who was uh needed to be cared for at home, was repeatedly raped and indecently assaulted in Bradford, U.K. Don't know when the incident occurred, but they were convicted in October of 2025 by a group, a gang of eight Muslim men from Pakistan. One of the men actually married, quote unquote, married this girl in an Islamic wedding ceremony. It's Islam, folks. That's the truth. That's what Islam really is.

Medal Of Honor Story

SPEAKER_01

Medal of Honor for today. William C. Bryan, Charles Bryan, hospital steward Indian Campaigns U.S. Army, March 17, 1876, Powder River, Wyoming, accompanied a detachment of cavalry in a charge on a village of hostile Indians and fought through the engagements, having his horse killed under him. He continued to fight on foot and under severe fire and without assistance conveyed two wounded comrades to places of safety, saving them from capture, which, contrary to the people today that talk about Indigenous People's Day and how wonderful all the natives were, being captured by the Native Americans was going to result in absolutely horrific torture, often, if you don't know this, at the hands of the women. Born September 9, 1852, in Zanesville, Ohio, died March 27, 1933, Santa Monica, California. Buried Fairmont Cemetery, cremated remains, Denver, Colorado. Don't you know that man saw a lot. Born in 1852, died in 1933. Civil War, all the Indian campaigns, World War II, into the Great Depression, and probably saw World War. I'm sorry, World War I, end of the Great Depression, probably saw the beginnings of World War II coming. William Charles Bryan.

Scott O’Grady On Trusting God

SPEAKER_01

The American heritage quote for today comes from Scott O'Grady. If you know anything about Scott O'Grady, he was a U.S. Air Force captain that was shot down over Bosnia back in 1995, I believe, flying an F-16 in a no-fly zone. He was shot down by a surface to air missile, and he had to escape and evade for six or seven days. Yeah, y'all are, I didn't mean did not do that on purpose. Some of y'all are going to think I did, uh, the younger kids that listened to it, but I think it was about a week and finally was rescued by U.S. Marines from the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard the USS Kearsarge on June 8th, 1995. And when he was brought back to his home base in Italy, uh, he made some remarks. Uh, one of some of his first remarks after the rescue. This is kind of a paraphrase of it. There's a few different versions, but it was something pretty close to this. The first thing I want to do is thank God. If it wasn't for God's love for me and my love for God, I wouldn't have gotten through it. He's the one that delivered me here, and I know that in my heart. One of the other things that he mentioned is that at some point in those number of days, there was a sense of peace that he felt God put on him, right? And the the other thing, and I've got to read this, I'm sorry, I'm going to keep this. This is from the American Patriots Bible. They talk about this incident here. I wanted to read the Article 6 of the United States Military Code of Conduct. I will never forget that I am an American fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America. We ask these men to go die for us, and then we take away God. Unbelievable.

Lord’s Prayer And Farewell

SPEAKER_01

Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not to temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom of the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. God bless y'all. God bless your families, your merit is if you're married. God bless your nation, wherever you are around the world listening. God bless America. We'll talk to you all again real soon, folks. Looking forward to it.
