Trust isn’t built by big speeches. It’s built by what we do with the small stuff. We open with Jesus’ words in Luke 16 and follow the thread all the way through: if we’re faithful in little things, we can be trusted with greater responsibility, but if we cut corners in quiet ways, the cracks eventually show up at home, at work, and in our spiritual life.

We talk Christian stewardship and money, the danger of serving two masters, and why “looking righteous” is not the same as being righteous. Then we shift into marriage and loyalty, leaning on Scripture’s call to rejoice in the spouse of your youth and treat intimacy and commitment as responsibilities, not moods. We also reflect on Jesus’ hard teaching about adultery and divorce, and what it means for a culture that normalizes broken vows.

From there we read Psalm 82 and sit with a clear demand for biblical justice: defend the poor, protect the oppressed, and refuse courts that favor the wicked. Proverbs 13 brings it home with one of the most practical disciplines of all: control your tongue, because words can ruin trust fast. We close with a Medal of Honor remembrance, a Revolutionary War hymn, and a reminder that faith has always shaped how Americans understood courage, duty, and public life.

Faithful With Small Things

SPEAKER_01

Luke 16, starting with verse 10. If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won't be honest with greater responsibilities. And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven? And if you are not faithful with other people's things, why should you be trusted with the things of your own?

A Tragic Crime And Accountability

SPEAKER_01

July 20th, 2025, Moorhead, Kentucky. Fifteen-year-old boy's mother was being raped, or the attempt was being made to rape her, and her son stepped in and was murdered by Gildardo Amandor Martinez, criminal illegal immigrant, which is repetitive, from Mexico, who had entered the U.S. illegally multiple times. Those people you know in your life that vote for the left, they support this. Just like with Islam.

Be with those who protect us in the dark and the cold, the night, the rain, the snow, our military, our law enforcement, our firefighters, our emos. Draw us close to you, Father Flex. Marriage Satisfaction As A Duty

SPEAKER_01

I heard a I'm pretty sure we covered this recently, but I heard somebody on X talking about this more or less. And it's it's interesting because I don't think that they were really Christian. And yet in their own experiences, they've seen the truth of this as far as marriage goes. May your fountain be blessed and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth, a loving doe, a graceful deer. May her breast satisfy you always. May you ever be intoxicated with her love. Right? And of course, what we always say is this is a twofold command for wives and husbands. You have a responsibility to be satisfied by your wife as a husband. You have the responsibility to satisfy your husband as a wife. Those two things go together. You can't have one without the other. And each of us in that marriage, as with all things, we we have our role and our responsibility to fulfill in order to make the marriage work correctly.

Luke 16 On Stewardship

SPEAKER_01

Luke 16, 1 through 18. Jesus told this story to his disciples. One day a report came that the manager was wasting his employer's money. So the employer called him in and said, What's this I hear about you? Get your report in order because you are going to be fired. The manager thought to himself, Now what? My boss has fired me. I don't have the strength to dig ditches and I'm too proud to beg. Ah, I know how to ensure that I'll have plenty of friends who will give me a home when I am fired. So he invited each person who owned money to his employer to come and discuss the situation. He asked the first one, How much do you owe him? The man replied, I owe him 800 gallons of olive oil. So the manager told him, Take the bill and quickly change it to 400 gallons. And how much do you owe my employer? He asked the next man. I owe him 1,000 bushels of wheat, was the reply. Here the manager said, Take the bill and change it to 800 bushels. The rich man had to admire the dishonest rascal for being so shrewd. And it is true that the children of this world are more shrewd in dealing with the world around them than are the children of the light. Here's the lesson. Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home. If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won't be honest with greater responsibilities. And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you when the true ri with the true riches of heaven? And if you are not faithful with other people's things, why should you be trusted with things of your own? How often, folks, do we want people to trust us, but time and again we show them we're not trustworthy? Whether it's your employer, your spouse, your children, your parents, your friends, how often do we show people that even though we say we're loyal, we're faithful, we're trustworthy, we're not. And then we get upset when they don't trust us. But what have we done to deserve that trust? No one can serve two masters, for you will hate one and love the other. You will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money. The Pharisees who dearly loved their money heard all this and scoffed at him. Then he said to them, You like to appear righteous in public, but God knows your hearts. What this world honors is detestable in the sight of God. God, Father, please help us to be truly righteous, to seek after the things that you seek after, to store up for ourselves treasures in heaven, not here on earth. Your son Sam, we pray, Amen.

Trust, Money, And Two Masters

SPEAKER_01

Until John the Baptist, the law of Moses and the message of the prophets were your guides. But now the good news of the kingdom of God is preached, and everyone is eager to get in. But that doesn't mean that the law has lost its force. It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the smallest point of God's law to be overturned. For example, a man who divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery. And anyone who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery. You got to remember the woman that was caught in the act of adultery and the fact that Jesus Christ didn't condemn her, right? But that's also some pretty stern teaching that we've forgotten inside the church, I think, about adultery.

Divorce, Adultery, And God’s Law

SPEAKER_01

Psalm 82, 1 through 8. God presides over heaven's court. He pronounces judgment on the heavenly beings. How long will you hand down unjust decisions by favoring the wicked? Goodness gracious, does that not like sound like some of our courts in America today? How long will you hand down unjust decisions by favoring the wicked? Give justice to the poor and the orphan, uphold the rights of the oppressed

Psalm 82 And Unjust Courts

and the destitute, rescue the poor and helpless, deliver them from the grasp of evil people. But these oppressors know nothing. They are so ignorant they wander about in darkness while the whole world is shaken to the core. I say you are gods. You are all children of the Most High, but you will die like mere mortals and fall like every other ruler.

Proverbs On Controlling The Tongue

SPEAKER_01

Proverbs 13, 2 through 3. Wise words will win you a good meal, but treasures treacherous people have an appetite for violence. We see that each day too, don't we? Treacherous people have an appetite for violence. Those who control their tongue will have a long life. Opening your mouth can ruin everything. I'll tell you what, folks, there are a lot of times in my life where I would have been so much better off if I just kept my mouth shut. That's all. That's all I had to do. I'm still learning.

Book Recommendation And Listener Support

SPEAKER_01

This is part of a review for Countryside from the first book. I'm going to show the second book today again, just because I don't very often, but it's from Brooke Newberry. And it says, if I didn't, if I don't know if my review actually does the book justice, but I highly recommend that you read it. It is full of lovable characters, interesting places, and magic. If you get a chance, check out Countryside. It's a family-friendly middle ground fantasy. This is the second book again. And there's some reviews on the back if you're interested. And if you enjoyed, if you'd leave a review somewhere, I'd appreciate it. Same thing for the podcast if you feel like you're getting something out of it. And if you have five or ten dollars a month that you could donate to the podcast, I would appreciate

Medal Of Honor Remembrance

SPEAKER_01

that. Also, Medal of Honor for today, John E. Buffington, sergeant, highest rank, first lieutenant, U.S. Civil War, Charlie Company, 6th Maryland Infantry, U.S. Army, April 2nd, 1865, Petersburg, Virginia. Was the first enlisted man of the 3rd Division to mount the parapet of the enemy's line. Accredited to Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland, not awarded posthumously, presented March 6, 1908. Location of Metal Pamphlin Historical Park and the National Museum of the Civil War Soldier, Petersburg, Virginia. John E. Buffington. One of those names, folks, we need to remember.

Evil Ignored And Media Silence

SPEAKER_01

So I have an example here. I'll read through real quick. 2001-2006, Rockdale, Greater Manchester, UK, two teenage girls groomed, plied with alcohol, repeatedly raped, raped by a gang of seven men, all Muslim, all Pakistan. It's Islam, right? If you haven't been paying attention, though, and I know we have enough problems of our own here in America, and there's a lot of other places, Ireland, UK, France, Spain, Belgium that we've talked about recently, but you ought to check out some of the stories about what these South African farmers and ranchers are living through right now. And it is just heartbreaking to see the just rape, pillage, destruction, torture, death that is following these people around in South Africa that the government is promoting, at least by all outward appearances. And it's it's astounding because our media here in America just refuses to cover it because it doesn't fit the narrative, right, of the left, which controls most of the media and education. One more for today.

Revolutionary War Hymn And Faith

SPEAKER_01

This is a song out of the Revolutionary War called Chester, I believe. It was composed by William Billings around 1778. This is out of the American Patriots Bible, great book, edited by Dr. Richard Lee. If you get a chance, highly recommend you pick up a copy of it. There's you can find this other places. This is just where I'm reading it from. One note that he puts in here, the last sentence before reading the poet, one detects no quote, separation of church and state in their convictions. And of course, you know, we've done this podcast for years. If you go back and pay attention to history, you'll see that the modern idea of separation of church and state is nowhere present in our founding generation. When you know just a little bit of history, you see that our founding generation very much wanted God and Jesus Christ involved in the state. They didn't want the state to pick a particular denomination, Christian denomination, to advance, to promote, to favor, but they wanted the general principles of Christ involved in our institutions, our constitutions, our courts, our nation. And the only just look at the overwhelming majority of the original state constitutions where it was a requirement even to be an officeholder, appointed or elected, that you had to be a Christian. And a Protestant in many cases, which goes back to the fear that they had of that church and state combination in Europe. They wanted Christianity involved, they just didn't want a particular state, and they didn't at all pretend that all other faiths were equal to Christianity. Anyway, let tyrants shake their iron rod and slavery clank her gowling chains. We fear them not, we trust in God. New England's God forever reigns. Howe and Burgon and Clinton too, with Prescott and Cornwallis joined, together plot our overthrow in one infernal league combined. When God inspired us for the fight, their ranks were broke, their lines were forced, their ships were shadowed, and our sight were swiftly driven from our coast. The foe comes on with haughty stride, our troops advance with martial noise, their veterans flee before our youth, and generals yield to beardless boys. What grateful offerings shall we bring? What shall we render to the Lord? Loud hallelujahs, let us sing, and praise his name on every cord. And again, this was the song of the American Revolution, right? Sung around campfires, around the Continental Army. Right. Definitely no separation of God, of church and state there.

The Lord’s Prayer And Farewell

SPEAKER_01

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not to temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. God bless y'all. God bless your families, your marriages, if you're married, your nation, wherever you are around the world listening. God bless America. We'll talk to y'all again real soon, folks. Looking forward to it.
