Faith gets reduced to vibes and spectacle so easily, but scripture keeps asking a harder question: will you listen and obey when nobody is impressed? We start with Joshua 10 and God’s promise of victory, then we pray for you, your family, your marriage, and for leaders and workers who hold society together. There’s also a sober moment where we name real-world evil and suffering, refusing to pretend the world is fine while still holding to a Christian hope that doesn’t collapse under tragedy.

From there we move into a direct Bible study on marriage from 1 Peter 3. We talk about what it means for wives to live with reverence and strength of character, and for husbands to honor their wives in daily life, with the warning that our relationships can even hinder our prayers. If you’re searching for biblical marriage guidance that is practical and challenging, this passage does not let anyone hide behind appearances.

Then we read Luke 16 and the rich man and Lazarus, where eternity comes into view and excuses run out. The point lands sharply: if we won’t listen to scripture, even a miracle may not change us. Luke 17 pushes it further into repentance, forgiveness, mustard-seed faith, and the quiet discipline of duty. We close with Psalm 83, Proverbs 13:4, a Medal of Honor story, and Abraham Lincoln’s Lyceum warning that a nation’s destruction often springs up from within, tying it back to a Christian worldview of Christ or chaos.

Do not be afraid of them, the Lord said to Joshua, for I have given you victory over them. Not a single one of them will be able to stand up to you. Place in your sins and we pray. Amen. When we read this marriage verse today, think about how many marriages inside the church you think are actually following this, right? 1 Peter 3, 1 through 7. Wives likewise, submit to your own husbands. Do this so that even if some of them refuse to believe the word, they may be one without a word by their wives' way of life. After all, they will have observed the reverent and holy manner of your lives. Don't try to make yourselves beautiful on the outside with stylish hair or by wearing gold jewelry or fine clothes. Instead, make yourselves beautiful on the inside, in your hearts, with the enduring quality of a gentle, peaceful spirit. This type of beauty is very precious in God's eyes. For it was in this way that holy women who trusted in God used to make themselves beautiful, accepting the authority of their own husbands. For example, Sarah accepted Abraham's authority when she called him master. You have become her children when you do good and don't respond to threats with fear. Husbands, likewise, submit by living with your wife in ways that honor her, knowing that she is the weaker partner. Honor her all the more as she is also a co-heir of the gracious care of life. Do this so that your prayers won't be hindered. Luke 16, 19 through 1710. Jesus said, There was a certain rich man who was splendidly clothed in purple and fine linen, and who lived each day in luxury. At his gate lay a poor man named Lazarus, who was covered with sores. As Lazarus lay there longing for scraps from the rich man's table, the dogs would come and lick his open sores. Finally the poor man died and was carried by the angels to sit beside Abraham at the heavenly banquet. The rich man also died and was buried and went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. The rich man shouted, Father Abraham, have some pity. Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames. But Abraham said to him, Son, remember that during your lifetime you had everything you wanted, and Lazarus had nothing. So now he is here being comforted, and you are in anguish. And besides, there is a great chasm separating us. No one can cross over to you from here, and no one can cross over to us from there. Then the rich man said, Please, Father Abraham, at least send him to my father's home, for I have five brothers, and I want him to warn them so that they don't end up in this place of torment. But Abraham said, Moses and the prophets have warned them. Your brothers can read what they wrote. The rich man replied, No, Father Abraham. But if someone is sent to them from the dead, then they will repent of their sins and turn to God. But Abraham said, if they won't listen to Moses and the prophets, they won't be persuaded, even if someone rises from the dead. I think a lot of us uh I don't know, folks, but it it strikes me, you know, if if we're not willing to read scripture and listen to God, would it really change anything if we saw someone rise from the dead, right? It's faith. You have to choose. That's why it's not magic, it's not some phenomenal experience in a moment. It's a choice. And we get to make that choice. You get to make that choice. You can make that choice today to put your faith in Christ. One day Jesus said to his disciples, There will always be temptations to sin, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting? It would be better to be thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around your neck than to cause one of these little ones to fall into sin. So watch yourselves. If another believer sins, rebuke that person. Then if there is repentance, forgive. Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive. The apostle said to the Lord, Show us how to increase our faith. The Lord answered, If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, May you be upread and uprooted and planted in the sea, and it would obey you. When a servant comes in from ploughing or taking care of sheep, does his master say, Come in and eat with me? No. He says, Prepare my mill, put on your apron, and serve me while I eat, then you can eat later. And does the master thank the servant for doing what he was told? Of course not. In the same way, when you obey me, you should say, We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty. Father, help us. Help us to be those unworthy servants who have simply done our duty. So that one day we can hear you say, Well done, good and faithful servant, and bring us home to you safely, Father. In your Son's name we ask and pray, Amen. Psalm 83, 1 through 18. O God, do not be silent, do not be deaf, do not be quiet, O God. Don't you hear the uproar of your enemies? Don't you see that your arrogant enemies are rising up? They devise crafty schemes against your people. They conspire against your precious ones. Come, they say, let us wipe out Israel as a nation. We will destroy the very memory of its existence. Man, that sounds familiar even today, does it not? Sadly, from some people that claim to be Christians in the United States. Yes, this was their unanimous decision. They signed a treaty as allies against you. These Edomites and Ishmaelites, Moabites and Hagarites, Ishmaelites, we're still dealing with the Ishmaelites, hmm. Gebalites, Ammonites, Amalekites, and people from Philistia and Tyre. Assyria has joined them too, and is allied with the descendants of Lot. Do to them as you did to the Midianites, as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the Kishon River. They were destroyed at Indor, and their decaying corpses fertilize the soil. Let their mighty nobles die as Oreb and Zeab did. Let all their princes die like Ziba and Zalmuna. For they said, Let us seize for our own use these pasture lands of God. O my God, scatter them like tumbleweed, like chaff before the wind, as a fire burns a forest, and as a flame sets mountains ablaze. Chase them with your fierce storm, terrify them with your tempest, utterly disgrace them until they submit to your name, O Lord. Let them be ashamed and terrified forever, let them die in disgrace. Then they will learn that you alone are called the Lord, that you alone are the most high supreme over all the earth. Proverbs 13 4. Lazy people want much but get little. But those who work hard will prosper. That sounds like today in America, too. Lazy people want a lot, but they get little. Excuse me, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, etc. Uh five-star Amazon review by Daryl P. An action-packed magical adventure with the age-old battle between good and evil that's loads of fun. Medal of Honor, Robert Buffam, private highest rank second lieutenant, U.S. Civil War Hotel Company, 21st Ohio Infantry, U.S. Army, April 1862, Georgia. One of the 19 of 24 men, including two civilians who, by direction of General Mitchell Mitchell or Buell, penetrated nearly 200 miles south into enemy territory and captured a railroad train at Big Shanty, Georgia, in an attempt to destroy the bridges and track between Chattanooga and Atlanta. Killed one Israeli civilian, seventy-three-year-old woman, injured eleven others in a busy commercial area. Perpetrators were members of a local soccer team. Ethnicity is no assurance, protection, or guarantee of either people following evil or not. It's the ideology. Leftism, socialism, communism, Nazism, Fascism, Islam. That's the key. Do they follow those evil ideologies or not? Or do they follow the principles of Christ? Christ or chaos? Abraham Lincoln in 1838 gave a speech before the young men's Lyceum of Springfield, Illinois.

And he was talking about danger to the United States.

Closing Prayer And Blessing

SPEAKER_02

I just want to read one paragraph. How then shall we perform it? At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow? Never. All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined with all the treasures of the earth, our own accepted. In their military chest with a bone apart for a commander could not by force take a drink from the Ohio or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is this approach of danger to be expected? I answer. If it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of free men, we must live through all time, or die by suicide. Lays out today very clearly, folks, even though it was written and read in 1838. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us the stare our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not to temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. God bless y'all. God bless your families, your marriages, your nation, wherever you are around the world listening. God bless America. We'll talk to you all again real soon, folks. Looking forward to it.
