Drop us a note about the podcast.
The world can feel like it’s speeding toward conflict, confusion, and fear, so we start where steadiness actually lives: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed… they are new every morning.” From Lamentations 3, we talk about what it means to wait quietly for God’s salvation without going passive, and how hope becomes a daily practice when the headlines won’t let you breathe.
We then wrestle with a heartbreaking real-world case of grooming and murder in the UK, using it to ask hard questions about what a society tolerates, how institutions fail the vulnerable, and why truth gets blurred when people are afraid to confront evil. That thread connects to a broader warning about cultural and religious तनाव in the West, and why worldview clashes don’t stay theoretical forever. I also share a striking comparison to Acts 21, where Paul is surrounded by rumors, seized by a mob, and rescued only when order finally arrives.
From there, we pivot to the strength God gives for ordinary life: a candid reading from Song of Solomon on marriage and intimacy, a call to praise from the psalm, and a reminder from Proverbs that the name of the Lord is a strong fortress. We close with history and civic formation through Benjamin Rush’s 1791 case for the Bible in public education, arguing that early moral impressions shape wiser, better citizens and a healthier republic.

Lamentations And Steady Hope
SPEAKER_00Lamentations three twenty two through twenty-six. Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, the Lord is my portion, therefore I will wait for him. The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, the one who seeks him. It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
A Tragic Case And A Warning
SPEAKER_00Lucy Lowe, sixteen-year-old girl, Telford, Shropshire, was groomed, repeatedly raped, and ultimately murdered, along with her family members, by Pakistani Muslim taxi driver Azhar Ali Mehmud. Man, special place in hell. 5 August 2000. Mehmud, the Muslim taxi driver, had been engaging in sexual activity with Lucy since she was fourteen. Some of the family's statements indicate it began as early as 12, age 12. She became pregnant at 14 by him, gave birth to their daughter. She was pregnant with his second child when he murdered her. Mehmud poured gasoline into the house, set it on fire. The fire killed Lucy, who was 16 at the time, and her unborn child, killed her sister, 17, who also had disabilities, killed their mother, 49. The father survived. Don't know whether he was there or not. And Mehmood ran away with their first child. The daughter has spoken out over the years, apparently, about this case and her mother. That is all that our wives and daughters, granddaughters, and even our grandsons have to look forward to as Islam and leftism gain power. We'll come back to it in a minute.

A Coming Cultural Religious Conflict
SPEAKER_00Those of y'all on the podcast, you know it. But we really likely have a fight coming here in the United States. It's logically it's inevitable, minus a miracle by God. Because it's like when you charge, run a credit card up, eventually the bill comes to. And followers of leftism, communism, Islam, right? Socialism, Nazism, fascism, all of those go together. Those evils, it's incompatible with people who follow the principles of Christ in a Christian nation. You can't have those two coexist. At some point, the bill comes due. The chickens come home to roost. And I saw a really interesting little clip from a podcast. It was the Navy SEAL who was involved years ago in the bin Laden raid, and he was theorizing that the next war, world war, large-scale war between states was going to start in Ireland, which sounds kind of shocking, right? Maybe. It doesn't, if you've been listening to this podcast for a while, because we've talked about the fact that those two groups of people can't coexist. And in Ireland and the UK, their back is against the wall. The true Irish, the true English, the Muslims, as soon as they get to 51%, folks, when they get majority, the stuff that we just talked about with this little 14, 12, 14, 16-year-old girl, that's going to be the law of the land. You're not going to have any recourse because the state will support Islam. And so he was talking about the fact that in some of these countries over there, the Muslims already have inroads. The communists already have inroads in the military. And so Ireland and the UK, at some point, hopefully, likely based on history, are going to start to push back against these invaders. And hopefully, based on history and experience again, they're going to kick them out of Ireland, kick them out of the U.K. And when they do, you're going to see countries in Europe and other places where the Muslims have control over the military, or at least parts of it, fight back, and that's how you're going to end up with that state-to-state warfare. At least that's what this Navy SEAL was postulating, theorizing. It was a really interesting little clip. I wish I had the name of the podcast, but I don't. At any rate, we have a fight coming, folks, and it's probably going to be a pretty big one. It's going to be horrific inside the United States, but it's probably going to spread around the world. And it's it's going to be a religious cultural war, and it's going to be the communists and the Muslims, just like they've been partnered together for almost all of the 20th century. The Nazis partnered with the Muslims. Stalin did, Mao did, China is still partnering with the Muslims. Communism, socialism, fascism, Nazism, they all go hand in hand, hand in glove with Islam. We talk about that so much. And just go back and listen to that court case again. Listen to what this man did to this little girl and their children and her sister and her mother. And the state, controlled already by communist Muslims, defended the Muslim. They did end up convicting this guy, but after all the damage was already done. Marriage verses for today. I
Song Of Solomon On Marriage Intimacy
SPEAKER_00would lead you and bring you to my mother's house. She who has taught me, I would give you spiced wine to drink, the nectar of my pomegranates. His left arm is under my head, and his right arm embraces me. Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you, do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires. Again you see the wife chasing the husband. Again you see some borderline, explicit, very implicit language here in the Bible talking about the importance of physical intimacy and marriage. And again, I would just ask you when the last time you heard Song of Solomon preached specifically about marriage and physical intimacy in any church that you've been in. Acts
Acts 21 And Paul Faces A Mob
SPEAKER_0021, 18 through 36. The next day Paul went with us, Luke and Paul's other companions, to meet with James and all the elders of the Jerusalem church were present. After greeting them, Paul gave a detailed account of the things God had accomplished among the Gentiles through his ministry. After hearing this, they praised God, and then they said, You know, dear brother, how many thousands of Jews have also believed. And they all follow the law of Moses very seriously. But the Jewish leaders, the Jewish believers here in Jerusalem have been told that you are teaching all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn their backs on the law of Moses. They've heard that you teach them not to circumcise their children or follow other Jewish customs. What should we do? They will certainly hear that you have come. And of course, the immediate question is, why are you still following the old when you have the new? That's a whole different discussion. Here's what we want you to do. We have four men here who have completed their vow. Go with them to the temple and join them in the purification ceremony, praying for them to have their heads, paying for them to have their heads ritually shaved. Then everyone will know that the rumors are all false and that you yourself observe the Jewish laws. As for the Gentile believers, they should do what we already told them in a letter. They should abstain from eating food offered to idols, from consuming blood or the meat of strangled animals, and from sexual immorality. So Paul went to the temple the next day with the other men. They had already started the purification ritual. So he publicly announced the date when their vows would end, and sacrifices would be offered for each of them. The seven days were almost ended when some Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul in the temple and roused a mob against him. They grabbed him, yelling, Men of Israel, help us. This is the man who preaches against our people everywhere and tells everybody to disobey the Jewish laws. He speaks against the temple and even defiles this holy place by bringing in Gentiles. For earlier that day they had seen him in the city with Trophimus, a Gentile from Ephesus, and they assumed Paul had taken him into the temple. The whole city was rocked by these accusations, and a great riot followed. Paul was grabbed and dragged out of the temple, and immediately the gates were closed behind him. As they were trying to kill him, word reached the commander of the Roman regiment that all Jerusalem was in an uproar. He immediately called out his soldiers and officers and ran down among the crowd. When the mob saw the commander and the troops coming, they stopped beating Paul. Then the commander arrested him and ordered him bound with two chains. He asked the crowd who he was and what he had done. Some shouted one thing and some another. Since he couldn't find out the truth and all the uproar and confusion, he ordered that Paul be taken to the fortress. As Paul reached the stairs, the mob grew so violent the soldiers had to lift him to their shoulders to protect him. And the crowd followed behind, shouting, Kill him, kill him.
Praise God And Run To Him
SPEAKER_00Psalm 105, praise the Lord, praise God in his sanctuary, praise him in his mighty heaven, praise him for his mighty works, praise his unequaled greatness, praise him with a blast of the ram's horn, praise him with the lyre and harp, praise him with the tambourine and dancing, praise him with strings and flutes, praise him with a clash of cymbals, praise him with loud clanging cymbals. Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord. Praise the Lord. Father, help us to praise you. Amen. Proverbs 18, 9 and 10. A lazy person is as bad as someone who destroys things. The name of the Lord is a strong fortress. The godly run to him and our safe. Father, again, help us to run to you. Keep us safe, please. Amen.
Books Reviews And Supporting The Show
SPEAKER_00If you are looking for a family-friendly middle grade read, if you would check out the countryside series, there's two books in it: The Book of the Wise, The Tears of Adina, Hardback, Paperback, Ebook, whatever you like. They have it. Amazon, Barnes and Noble, your local bookstore can order it. And if you enjoy it, if you'd leave a review for the first and the second book online, those help a great deal. It's kind of like Narnia, the Hobbit, Percy Jackson, Fable Haven, that kind of stuff, middle grade fantasy. If you like it, or your kids or grandkids or friends like that kind of stuff. Also for the podcast, if you feel like you're getting something out of either podcast, the American Soul Podcast or America's Christian Heritage, if you would leave reviews for those online. They help others to find it, especially the five stars in both cases. And if you have five or ten dollars a month, you can donate to the podcast. There's a link in the show notes where you can do that. And I would be grateful for that also. So thank you for any or all of those.
Medal Of Honor Spotlight James Carey
SPEAKER_00Medal of Honor, James Carey. Seaman, interim 1865 to 1870, USS Huron, U.S. Navy 1867 near Rio de Janeiro. Seaman on board the USS Huron for saving three shipmates from drowning. That's three. Wonder if that was all at the same time. Accredited to New York, not awarded posthumously born 1844, Ireland. God love the Irish. Oh, they may lead us yet again. Died September 18, 1913, Brooklyn, New York. Buried Holy Cross Cemetery. Section plots, range 7, Grave 8, Brooklyn, New York. Definitely different immigrants than the ones we're getting today, huh? James Carey. Another name to remember.
Benjamin Rush On Bible In Schools
SPEAKER_00Benjamin Rush. Got a quote from him, one of our founding fathers. We've talked about him often. This quote's gonna do a couple things. One, he's promoting public education. So one of our founding fathers, one of our most influential founding fathers promoting public education, which you need in a republic, you've got to have an educated population somehow. Got to. Those of y'all that listen listen to the podcast, you know I'm a fan of school choice and homeschool, uh, but that is not going to educate the entire population. So you've got to have something else. The other thing you will see here, much like Fisher Ames, the man that actually worded the establishment clause in the Constitution and the First Amendment, he's gonna talk about the fact that the Bible needs to be the standard school book because of the moral, lasting moral, intellectual benefits from teaching scripture, right? So this is a quote, a passage out of his 1791 essay, A Defense for the Use of the Bible as a school book. The influence of early impressions is very great upon subsequent life. And in a world where false prejudices do so much mischief, it would discover great weakness not to oppose them by such as are true. I grant that many men have rejected the impressions derived from the Bible. But how much soever these impressions may have been despised, I believe no man was ever early instructed in the truths of the Bible without having been made wiser or better by the early operation of these impressions upon his mind. Every just principle that is to be found in the writings of Voltaire is borrowed from the Bible. And the morality of the deis, which has been so much admired and praised where it has existed, has been, I believe, in most cases, the effect of habits produced by early instruction in the principles of Christianity. There's a lot of great stuff just in this short quote. One, you see, even the deists, uh even if you look at the possible deists in our founding fathers, they all had a biblical worldview. They all still adhered to the principles of Jesus Christ. And you see him talking about the fact that even those who reject the Bible, that those early impressions of the principles of Christ make them wiser, better men and women. Right? We have done a huge disservice to our nation nation and future generation by not continuing to have the Bible as a primary textbook in our schools, in each classroom, teaching those lessons. And it doesn't at all interfere with individual religious freedom. You want to go home and follow whatever it is that you're gonna follow. If you're gonna have a taxpayer-funded public education system in a Christian nation, it has to be centered on shocking Christ. Just like you see other countries, i.e., a Muslim nation, where you have education founded on, based on the Quran, in a Christian nation, you have to have publicly funded education centered on the Bible. Right. Benjamin Rush, again, 1791, from his essay, A Defense of the Use of the Bible as a school book.
Lord’s Prayer And Final Charge
SPEAKER_00Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not to temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. God bless you all. God bless your families, your marriages if you're married, your children if you have them, your nation, wherever you are around the world. God bless America. And again, folks, if you I know we have a lot of listeners in other places around the world. I see them. I need to go back and read through some of them on the podcast. That's always fun. Um London, Paris, Thailand, all over the place, right? The same principle is true in your nation. There is no nation on the face of the earth that you cannot improve, will not improve by spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the only thing guaranteed to improve your nation wherever you are. Same thing in America, folks, for those of us that live here. If we, the best thing we can do to turn our nation around is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. We'll talk to y'all again real soon, folks. Looking forward to it.
