When a culture calls itself “advanced” while children are being exploited and families are falling apart, something deeper than politics is broken. We start with Romans 5 and the blunt truth that cuts through our pride: we were “utterly helpless,” and Christ died for us while we were still sinners. That isn’t a religious slogan, it’s the center of the gospel and the only solid ground for forgiveness, righteousness, and peace with God.
From there, we talk about real-world consequences when a nation turns away from God, including the horrific Huddersfield grooming gang case and what it reveals about moral collapse, public safety, and the loss of a high trust society. I share why I believe the deepest problem is not just “out there,” but in Christians pretending we don’t need Jesus Christ, then acting surprised when chaos follows. We connect that pattern to the Old Testament and to the everyday ways pride shows up in modern life.
We also bring it home with Proverbs on marriage and parenting: why clear expectations matter before marriage, why avoiding hard conversations does not build strength, and why discipline can be a form of love. Then we step into American Christian heritage with Alexis de Tocqueville’s observations from Democracy in America, where he argues that religion and freedom in the United States were closely linked, and we ask what that means for liberty today.

Romans 5, starting with verse 6. When we were utterly hopeless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God's condemnation.
The Huddersfield Grooming Gang. This was investigated by West Yorkshire police under the Operation Tenderse. It was one of the largest child sex exploitation networks prosecuted in the UK successfully. Occurred primarily between 2004-2011. Huddersfield and surrounding areas of West Yorkshire. Repeatedly raped, sexually assaulted, trafficked. Dozens of men. Majority of them Asian Pakistani Muslim or Sika. I never can remember Ski S I K A Twenty Men in some of the major trials, more than a hundred and twenty offenses. Targeting again almost exclusively young white British girls. Folks, you you can't have a Christian society, a what people call a high trust society, a safe society. If you turn away from God and Jesus Christ and you invite people in who reject God and Jesus Christ. I mean, that's that's the easy, that's the superficial part of the problem, the solution is there's nobody that should be allowed to immigrate into the UK for the USA for sure, but also the UK, that does not acknowledge the truth of Christianity. Whether they follow it or not themselves, I would highly recommend that. But if you want to come live here, you have to acknowledge the truth of the gospel. And you have to be willing to assimilate into our faith, our culture. And no one should be allowed to come in that doesn't. With so few exceptions, the rarest of rare exceptions. I always go back to some of the Muslim men that were that fought alongside us overseas. Those men risked their lives to defend this country. I'm not gonna turn them away. But those cases are so rare. It's not even a percentage point. But the bigger part of the problem, the reason we're here to begin with, is because we, as Christians living in a Christian nation, have turned our back on God and Jesus Christ. We pretended that we didn't need them. That we did all this because we were so great. I remember a shirt I saw years ago celebrating America and talking about the fact that we were two-time World War champions, right? And it's a funny shirt, and it's a true shirt. But the interesting thing is there's no reference to God. And it's just a little thing, but we really, we really do think that we did all this without God. And then we wonder why we're being invaded, why our wives and daughters and grandchildren are being raped and pillaged. It's hard not to see the connection with the Old Testament.

Overwhelmed, burdened, filled with stress. Help us to turn to you, Father, to take the yoke of your son, which is easy and light, to love you with our whole heart, mind, soul, and strength, to love our neighbors as ourselves. And guide my words here, Father, please. In your Son's name we pray. Amen.
Marriage verses for today. Proverbs 21, 9, 25, 24. Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife. Better to live on a corner of the roof than to share a house with a quarrelsome wife. There's a reason God mentions this multiple times, folks. Very important for you to take note prior to marriage. You really, especially young men as leaders, you ought to have very clear expectations laid out for a woman that you're thinking about potentially marrying. They better line up with scripture. And you better tell her, say, this is what my expectations are. This is where I expect our marriage to go, our family, our relationship to go. And then if she's not interested, that gives her the opportunity to leave. And women, if you're looking at a man and you think that he's going to ask you to marry him and he's marriage material, you better make sure that he knows what he's looking for. Because if you wait until you get married and then start to try and set expectations, it doesn't, it will not end well.

For since our friendship with God, with God was restored by the death of his son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God, because our Lord, Jesus Christ, has made us friends of God. When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam's sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. Yes, people sinned even before the law was given, but it was not counted as sin because there was not yet any law to break. Still, everyone died from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ who was yet to come. But there is a great difference between Adam's sin and God's gracious gift. For the sin of this one man Adam brought death to many, but even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through the other man, Jesus Christ. And the result of God's gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man's sin. For Adam's sin led to condemnation, but God's free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. Yes, Adam's one sin brings condemnation for everyone. But Christ's one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous. God's law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God's wonderful grace became more abundant. So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God's wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. This is a great chapter to see the point. You know, there's no denomination mentioned here. Mary's not mentioned here, not one single time. Not Joseph, not the disciples, not the thief on the cross, not the Roman Catholic Church, the Greek Orthodox Church, Baptist, Methodist, Church of Christ, anything else. Only Jesus Christ is mentioned here regarding our standing with God and the gift of eternal life.
Psalm 15. Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord, who may enter your presence on your holy hill, those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts, those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends, those who despise flagrant sinners and honor the faithful followers of the Lord and keep their promises even when it hurts, those who lend money without charging interest, and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever.
Proverbs 19, 18, and 19. Discipline your children while there is hope, otherwise you will ruin their lives. Hot-tempered people must pay the penalty. If you rescue them once, you will have to do it again. You know, a lot of times we think that that not disciplining our children is loving. Right? Oh, I'm gonna be nice. I want to be nice. I want to be kind. But it's not nice, it's not kind, it's not loving, right? You can make the same argument really as a husband with a wife to a certain degree. If you're not leading, if you're not willing to say no to things that are immoral, you're not being kind or caring. The whole happy wife, happy life line, that's a lie. That's a propaganda tool from feminism. What makes your marriage strong, what makes your parenthood strong with your children is following God's commands.

We haven't talked about Alexis De Toteville in a while on the podcast, so we're gonna spend a little time there. Um if you're looking, there's a few resources I mentioned the other day. I mentioned need to mention them more often. America's Patriot Bible, edited by Dr. Richard Lee, the founder Bible, founder's Bible by the Wall Builder Association, and America's God and Country Encyclopedia of Quotes by William Federer. Highly recommend those. They ought to be basic texts in each of our classrooms across the nation. And it's a really good starting point if you're looking to learn more about the connection between our nation and God and Jesus Christ. So De Tocqueville uh came to America in the 1830s. He was a French historian and wrote down his observations in his book, Democracy in America. And so we're going to read a few quotes from that and some other quotes along the way. We'll see how many podcasts we stick with it. Talking about our settlers spreading West. I have known of societies formed by the Americans to send out ministers of the gospel into the new western states to found schools and churches there, lest religion should be suffered to die away in those remote settlements, and the rising states be less fitted to enjoy free institutions than the people from which they emanated. I met with wealthy New Englanders who abandoned the country in which they were born in order to lay the foundation of Christianity and of freedom on the banks of the Missouri or in the prairies of Illinois. You know, one of the things you hear the left harp on so often is slavery from the 1800s, right? And they talk about the racism, talk about how evil uh white Christian men were supposedly. Except they don't ever talk about the fact that how many white Christian men died so that the slaves could be free. You don't get the other side of the story, right? America's history is not perfect by any means. You look at the Bible, uh, the the men and the women in the Bible are not perfect by any means. But you've got to have the really academic integrity, the honesty to see where the trend progresses positively, right? You look at elections today, sometimes you don't have a really great choice between two candidates, but there's always a candidate, even if just a fraction, just a hint of a fraction, there's always one candidate that is closer to Christ, that that turns the nation back closer to Christ, and that should always be our vote as Christians. Right? Even if it's not a great choice, that should still be our vote. One more quote from Democracy in America. Upon my arrival in the United States, the religious aspect of the country was the first thing that struck my attention. And the longer I stayed there, the more I perceived the great political consequences resulting from this new state of things. In France, I had almost always seen the spirit of religion and the spirit of freedom marching in opposite directions. But in America, I found they were intimately united and that they reigned in common over the same country. We cannot have freedom and liberty in America without God and Jesus Christ to us. That's why we don't today. That's why we're losing it. That is the main reason. Everything goes back to that. Everything is tied to that.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not to temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. God bless y'all.
